Da Vinci's Exhibition in Malaysia

Now i can view this in KL!!!

It's cool! Da Vinci's Exhibition is finally in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! From 1st October 2009 onwards, Da Vinci's masterpieces can be viewed at the National Science Center(Pusat Sains Negara).

A mommy to two beautiful girls aged 3 and 2, i am looking around town to send my girls to some art classes and have been looking around for one. My friend introduced me to Da Vinci Creative Kids, and i have brought my kids to The Ikano's center. And now i have a chance to bring them to the exhibition and inspire them to the marvel of arts, and hopefully they are interested to take up art classes at Da Vinci Creative Kids.
Kids learning painting at Da Vinci Creative Kids

I have learnt about Da Vinci since i was in secondary school during which i learnt about him in Sejarah Dunia,(World History). He is a man of many hats; Artist, Musician, Anatomist, Inventor, Engineer, Sculptor, Mathematician, Philosopher, Geometer, Painter, Architect. And of course, more famous known for his masterpiece 'Monalisa' and 'The Last Supper'.

I would bring my daughters to the exhibition, though they are still at tender age, but well, art is universal and i strongly believe my daughters of age 2 and 3 will be marvelled by Leonardo's creative creations. It is also through this exhibition i would like to instil creativity and hope in my kids, inspire them to paint their thoughts and creativity. Some people says, its a way to open up the right brain; the creative part of the brain...:)

Emmy is Skinny

Despite attempts to help Emmy to increase her weight, but it remains a challenge. She is too skinny for her age and bones all over. Getting her multivitamins, Vitamin C, Scotts emulsion's cod liver oil.
Any sharings from other Mommy?

Facebook vs blogging

With creation of Facebook and being 'hooked' to it, i realised that i spend less time blogging. Will need to strife a balance as i think and feel that blogspot will have longer 'existence' compared to Facebook, though the latter made it so easy to keep in touch and communicate with family and friends.

Oh no... Elly is listening to the Wedding song again now... and give me the 'happy faces'

Emmy Stutter? or just a habit?

Emmy is 2yo and 5 months. Sometimes when she talks, she stutter, ie when she calls me, she say 'Mom...Mom...Mom...Mommy', she is like taking some time for her to complete a whole phrase. Makes me wonder whether it is normal for toddlers learning talking to have it. Each baby is unique, i know, so i dont compare with her elder sister, Elly.

Elly loves reading and watching TV, her attention span is longer, with marvellous vocabulary while Emmy is mischievous, funny and has a lot of ideas. Each is unique in their own way. Just hope to be able to raise them up to be a confident person.

From a StrengthsFinder test which i took recently, i was a low Self Assurance person although with great Positivity. Need to develop myself so that i can be a good role model to my kids.

Elly's Dream

Last Saturday we went back to Malacca. In her dream, Elly said."I want to wear Pampers...". Makes me wonder whether i gave too much pressure to her that in her dream also she dreamt of wearing Pampers.

If i have more time...

If only Mommy has more time and can prioritise better, i would really love to record down all the funny, happy, crazy moments of my 2 beautiful daughters. Elly is 2yo, Emmy is 3yo, now is the best time , or shall i say their 'innocent times'. Spending time with them doing nothing is the best thing i wanna do, well again the opportunity cost comes in.

Elly is now sitting beside me, exploring the tablet, Nokia N800 that her Daddy is teaching her to explore. She is using it to listen to Youtube's How Romantic ..... (the wedding song clip) and Twinke Twinkle Little Star.

Lucky Elly, playing with gadgets at tender age of 3yo... i wonder what i was doing when i was 3yo. I confess i have bad memory. I cant recall a single thing that i do when i was 3yo. The earliest was 4-5 yo.

Wedding song

There was this video clip shared in facebook on a man propose to his girlfriend by sending a message and how it triggered a couple of handphones to illuminate lighting and play the 'Wedding song'. Elly was thrilled and happy each time she listen to this song and the clip, as though as she is the one getting married.

My dear Elly, will show you the clip which Daddy has recorded your happy and thrilled face on your wedding day..:) emmm.. twenty to thirty years from now...

Elly and Emmy spending more time together

I had sent Elly to Emmy's babysitter home since the last week of August. My mom is not well lately so we decided to let her take a break from taking care of Elly. And lucky for us that Emmy's babysitter is willing to take care the 2 sisters.

I remembered the first few days i sent Elly to the babysitter's house, in order to encourage her to go to the babysitter's house, i brought her to the playground after work. This is to 'reward' her for being such a good girl and take care of 'Meimei'(lil sister) while Mommy is working.

Last Monday, she insisted that she didnt want to go to the babysitter's house. She cried and wept when i left her at the babysitter's house. So that night, i explained to Elly that Mommy has to work and she has to be good girl and go to babysitter's house. Asked her to promise me two things while at babysitter's house:
1.cannot fight with Meimei
2.cannot beat Meimei

Now whenever she wants some goodies i will ask her to promise me these 2 things and each time she remembered..:) Just hope that she will keep her words too. Big Mommy's girl!

Elly's dental appointment

The mask girl, Elly Ong..:)

This is Elly's second visit to see Dr Siti, a dentist at HUKM. Due to her previous bleeding gums, she has to come back for regular checks. During her previous visit, the nurse let her wore a pink sunglasses and some stickers, so this appointment she is not afraid at all and requested for the sunglasses and stickers from the 'Kakak'(nurse)

Elly wearing her sunglasses waiting to be checked by Dr Siti. Well, the overall gums has improved, but there were some slight swelling at the back teeth, so now onwards, i need to help Elly to brush teeth one round first.

Every night now, i will brush Elly's teeth first, before she brush on her own. She loves brushing teeth now, especially after i let her to have some Sensodyne's pink tooth paste for sensitive gums like hers and mine.

Month of July and August

Elly enjoyed her spageti and mushroom soup at Italianies. Brought her for a day out after her medical check up dont show any negative signs. Its only poor oral hygiene that caused her swollen gums and bleeding sometimes.

No, no, I dont want Daddy's spageti with chillies. Although Sky and myself love chillies and spicy food, Elly has not inherit even a slight % of it..:) Anyway, she is like Daddy, loves to eat mee and spagetti.

Seafood spagetti.. yummy~. Look at the generous mussels, clams and juicy prawns.

HUKM Paediatrics clinis. It has a mini playground for the kids to play while waiting for their turns to see the Doctor.

Elly enjoying herself at the slides. I think she slide more than 10 times on it..

Escalator Phobic and Escalator Maniac

Elly--> escalator phobic
Whenever see escalator, need to find 'sponsor' to carry her on the escalator. She will shiver and cry for help and stand still.

Emmy-->escalator maniac
Whenever see escalator, ask to be put on the escalator on her own and she wants to walk up and down the escalator.

Until today, Elly managed to overcome her fear of escalator when i shared with her that her lil sister, Emmy can go up and down the escalator on her own and how 'mei-mei' enjoyed standing on the escalator on her own. She now can stand one escalator on her own by holding Daddy and Mommy's hands.

Elly is admitted to HUKM for one day

Elly had fever for the past 2 days and she vomitted yesterday morning. Perhaps was due to her bleeding gums, there was blood in her vomit. To be safe, we sent her to HUKM for check-up. The doctor on call was contemplating whether to admit her or not. After further checks and there were also some rashes on her face and hands, she decided to admit Elly.

The blood test was normal, with normal counts of haemoglobin, white blood cells and platelet. However, her APTT count was high. I was told it is the tendency to blood. So does that explain why Elly has bleeding gums? (donno yet..)

At the children ward, Elly was given Bed11, 4A. It is spacious as it catered for a three-fold chair which can be extended to a bed at night for parent, a children bed, 1 chair and 1 cabinet. As bubble as she was, she refused to rest on the bed, insisted to sit on the 3-fold chair and asked me to rest on the bed instead.

At about 5pm, the doctor on call, Dr Juanita came for rounds. After some interviews and checking on her body and her gums, she gave green light that Elly can be discharged, only with an additional tube of blood for further test. phew.. what a relief!

Will be coming back to the paed clinic and dental clinic on next Tuesday for further checks. Diagnosis given for the referal was gingivitis?? Hope so... and of course not some other illness.

Elly is down with fever

Poor Elly, she is having fever now. Dear girl, speedy recovery yeah! Wanna see Mommy's bubbly girl in action again.

Chilli Cha cha song

Elly and Emmy now love to dance to the beat of Chilli Cha cha song. They will jump and dance on our bed. So on weekend, it has been a routine to have 'family dance' together. Sky's subwoofer has great base, creating a better dancing environment..:)

Nespray 1+ and 3+

Tesco is having its double points promotion for 29-30 July. We were there to buy some milk stock for the girls. We ended buying 8 packs of Nespray 1+ and 10 packs of Nespray 3+! Tesco is having promotion for the 1kg package at RM18.99, compare to retail price at RM25. Cheapest at chinese medicine shop is at RM22.30.

Hope the stock will last longer this round. The last round we bought 6 packs each and i think it is almost gone in like 2-3 months time.

And the plus is we are also getting double points, with rebate of 2%, so we got 800 over points, that is RM16 cash in return. It will be billed to us in September.
