Checkups

Tomorrow both Elly and Emmy will have their regular checkups at the local council clinic. They are fortunate to stay at strategic place where the clinic is only 10 minutes drive away. And this saves Mommy a fortune since the checkups and all the vaccinations given are free!

For instance, when Emmy had her 3-in-1 jab last month, there was an additional vaccine (to protect the brain from damage caused by fever) included and became a 4-in-1 jab. Told by the nurse that Emmy was so lucky as the 'brain protection' vaccine caused RM150. Will ask for Elly when she has her 18 months vaccination tomorrow.

Well, to be frank, i am ignorant to the details of each vaccine, what is it used for, all i know is that the jabs are for the general health of the babies. I shall learn to be more specific, learn up what are the jabs are for.

Time flies... Elly turning 18 months and Emmy turning 4 months already. And their DOB are almost the same - 315 and 513 (March 15th and May 13th)

Dutch Lady Chocolate Milk

Elly loves to drink Milo when she is at Po-po's(grandma) house. She is drinking 2 cups per day, breakfast and supper. As she loves chocolate/coco drink, i bought her the Dutch lady chocolate Drink 123 as it contains DHA , etc etc of brain development ingredients. Toddler's brain development is the fastest especially during the first 4 years.

So i always remind myself to 'fully utilise' these 4 years with the kids. As with the success of a IT project, a blueprint is essential. Now am thinking of a blueprint on how to develop the kids to be a STAR. Here, i dont mean having them be the straight 15 A1s students, but one who is smart and courteous.

Elly Fell in the Bathroom

Sunday nite, Elly fell in the bathroom, Mommy to be partly blamed for being careless. Elly now loves to follow me when i do house chores. She was holding the mini chair that i used when washing the clothes and want to put it back into the bathroom.

Excited as she was, as the bathroom was wet, she slipped and fell. When i saw her, she was already lying on the floor and started crying. Quickly carried her up and hugged her.

At one corner of my heart, i felt guilty on her fall. If only i was not that careless and let her into the wet bathroom, she wont fall. Lesson learnt, lucky that it was just a fall and she did not hurt herself seriously. Would be more mindful on the things that I do. Thank God, it was only a minor incident.

It was a wake-up call to me, to be more careful since there are small kids in the family. I have rearranged the kitchen and living room where 'fragile and danger' items are all hidden and out of reach.

Tiramisu Celebration

Thanks to Uncle Wai and Aunty Mei Ling, they bought a Tiramisu cake from Secret Recipe for Daddy's birthday. The cake was so moist and soft that when we opened the cake box to light up the candles, to our shock, the cake has 'shift paradigm'(split to two layers).

Anyway, Elly was so esctatic and she said 'Bai-bai'(prayers) when we lighted up the candles. She has seen Po-po(grandma) lighted up the candles for prayers daily. We cant stop laughing looking at her with her palms together as in prayers...:)
Then, Elly blew the candles and we ate the cake. As there were leftovers, given some to Aunty Mei Ling to bring home. As the cake was so soft and moist, Po-po has to use a wok's ladle to cut the cake and 'shift' the cake to the box. Hmm, i think it deserves a place in Malaysian Book of Records.

Simple yet sweet birthday celebration for Daddy.

France Taipei Escapade Part 1

Beef with Foie Gras (RM 128)

Planned for a romantic birthday celebration for Daddy's birthday, but it turned out 'wrong'-matic instead. Learnt that bringing two kids to fine-dining is a catatrosphe. We went to a French restaurant in Bangsar One to try the 'Foie gras'(fatty liver of goose).

Foie Gras with Duck Meat (RM 70)
Escargots (snails) RM 46

Emmy lying on chair RM priceless
Happy Daddy with wish granted

Later, went to a Taiwanese teahouse in Pudu to try the famous 'xiao shi'(snacks) including oyster mee suah, crispy chicken, preserved vegetables, wine chicken and some bubble teas.

Share some photos later.

Elly going 'kai-kai' (going out for a stroll)

Elly was fascinated with the Cosmos indoor theme park and dont want to leave. Lucky found this cartoon. Elly just to love gooing 'kai-kai'(taking a stroll, anywhere does not matter to her). Before she sleeps and when she wakes up, her first words would be 'kai-kai', 'kai-kai'. So we brought her for a stroll at Times Square.

Keyboard and Music

I purchased a keboard 4 years ago to realise one of my childhood dreams to learn and play the piano. However, since i only want to play the music and avoid sitting for the exams, i purchased a keyboard instead.

Had been sitting in a quiet corner of my living room until recently got an 'Eureka' idea. Will expose it to Elly and Emmy. If they are passionate about it, then will send them to keyboard classes. Another alternative is i join the class and then teach my girls.

As there are some pre-computerised songs and self-play songs with red lights on the keys to teach novice, easier to teach the girls.

Pay Per Post

Thanks to Colleen, i learnt about Pay Per Post(PPP). Check this and more out at my side bar.

Multi-language development

Have been planning for multi-language development for Elly for long time. I speak English with her, Sky speak Mandarin with her and my parents(who takes care of Elly speak Cantonese with her. Anyway, most of the times i did end up speaking in Mandarin with her.

As she is turning 18 months next week and she is able to understand most of the things that i said, will try to stick with conversing in English with her. Takes more effort and I think it is worth it.

This afternoon, I asked her (in English) to help bring the pacifier and pillow to her Mei mei(sister), she understood and brought the items for me.
