Check up at 4 months

Brought Elly for her 4 months old check up a few days ago. At 4 mo, there is no vaccination, only some checks. Got her body weight, her weight was lower than we expected.

Last month, her weight was 6.8kg, so we guessed that this month, she will be ard 7.5-7.6 kg. But when weight, she was only 7.3 kg, a mere 500 g increase from her last month weight.

Anyway, it is good sign too as Elly is more active and sleep less. Guess her active moves burns more calories for her..:)

Babysitter Takes Time-off

Elly's babysitter will be taking time-off for the whole month of Sept. Reason being, her second daughter will give birth to a baby boy that time and need my babysitter to take care of her and baby during confinement.

Me and Sky will have to take turns to take care of her daytime. Need to work out a leave plan as with my new project,can't take the whole month off from work. Perhaps the best is we take leave alternately ie me Mon, Wed, Fri and Sky on Tue and Thu or vice-versa.

Mom-in-law, sis-in-law, Mom and Dad also will be taking turns to take care of Elly. Hmmm, having a new kid in the family is no joke, need so big 'task-force' to take care of her..:)

Elly turned 4 mo

Cute little Elly turned 4 mo on 15 July.
Time really flies.

It was like yesterday when i gave birth to her and now she is already 4 mo.

She just loves shopping like Mommy..:)

Baby food.. too early?

Elly will turn 4 mo in a couple of days. Some friends and relatives has shared that it is abt time to start her on solid food, ie something like Nestum. But i will wait for Elly to be 6 mo before starting her on it. Simple reason, want to avoid her having 'food allergy' shall she cannot take the food in such young age.

After all, my doctor advised to give her only when she reaches 6mo. And thanks to my supervisor, Alice, she had given me some Gerber's baby food for Elly to try on. Will have to keep until Sept then only let Elly have them.

Music lessons

Nowadays quite a lot of parents send their kids to music classes in an early age. Hoping to develop the artistic side of the child. And in my case, my girl is only 3 mo, and there are friends already asking me plans for her, esp extra courses like music, ballet, art lessons etc

Ask me frankly and i dont have such plans for my girl, hope she will find her own interests and then i will send her to such classes. And i feel that child nowadays are "lucky" to have everything ; i don mean basic need, but more on the "luxury" need.

Well, easier said than done. But what is more important is to teach her courtesy and moral values. A person cannot go far if the attitude and personnel well-being is lacking. Will try to inculcate good examples for her. But then again, am I courteous in the first place? To teach a kid, I have to set good example first..:)

I will say more these words "Please", 'Thank you", "Sorry".

Fever

Elly had her 3 month jab last Friday. Got fever after the jab. She was not her own self, perhaps due to the fever and the uneasy feeling as i believed that she still cant register the fever as a sickness. Did not smile or laugh or babble away.

Monitored her throughout the nites. On Sunday morning, she has got well. Can smile, laugh and babble cheerfully. First time she fell sick and it made us worried.

Weight now: 6.8 kg
