With various methodology for childhood education, it actually makes us parents are 'spoilt' for choices on deciding which one to choose for our kids. If my generation we only have the typical kindergarten as pre-school, now there are Montessori, Smart Readers, Enopi, Kumon, Cosmotots and etc etc.
And monthly fees would range from RM 100++ to RM 500++.Hello..... pre-school only and it costs a fortune! And most of them require payment for the whole year during registration. Imagine paying about RM 3-6k a year for childhood education. Raising a child is definitely not easy nowadays.
Given a choice, i would love to spend more time with my kids and coach them myself. Teach them that everyone is unique, and avoid 'peer pressure'. But well, easier said than done.... but will try my best to guide my girls to be... just who they are!

'Popiah' or Merdeka?
Po-po(maternal grandma) taught Elly to say 'Merdeka' whenever she sees Malaysia flag. This year we celebrated the grandest Merdeka since it is the 5oth anniversary on 31 Aug.
Somehow when Elly try to pronounce 'Merdeka', it turned out to be 'popiah'(spring roll). Initially when she saw the Malaysia flag at highways, roads, shops, tv or newspapers, I did not realised that she was referring to the flag and felt funny.
Only realised it when i bought her a mini flag and she excitedly said 'popiah' 'popiah'! And for the past one month she loved to carry her flag and waved it. hmmm... a lil' patriotic Malaysian in the making.....:)

Elly Stroll Along Pantai One, Malacca
Elly loves to take a stroll each time back to Malacca. She loves the lion monument at a temple nearby.
Elly's favorite lion monument
Carvings at the temple
Chinese temple nearby
Elly in 'Merdeka' spirit.
August 31st is Malaysia's 50th Independence Day and Elly is waving her flag wherever she goes
(Mommy loves this photo as Elly looks like a 'typical Chinese boy' with her 'one-line' eyes) heheheh..:)
Elly and her cock friend
Fascinated by the cock crows early morning... cuckookoo.....

Elly and Persona
We went to check out the new Proton car, Persona when it was newly launched. Quite impressed by the overall design, except the lights are 'too Gen2' for me. RM 45,000 to RM 55,000 for a 1.6 car.... Great deal if it do not have all the common problems of a Proton car. (There are 3 Wiras in my family)
Some photos that i snapped while Sky was checking the car specs.

Back to A-Mah's house
Unless there are more important and urgent things to be done, Sky and I made it a point to go home to Malacca once a month to A-Mah's(paternal grandma) house. Emmy is too small to realise the frequent travelling but Elly, now 17 months was all excited. Elly loves to take a stroll around A-Mah's house. There is a Chinese temple adjacent and Elly just love to go over for 'Bai-bai'(prayers) and touch the mini lion monument.
A-Mah's house is big and have a lot of different plants and flowers. Banana trees, papaya trees, peppermint plant, curry leaves, spider lily, hibiscus, cactus, crysanthemum and sugar cane to name a few. Elly and Emmy are luckier than Mom as they have a 'kampung'(village) to go back to.
Morning glory
'Blue' flower
(normally used to add color to Nyonya Kueh- a type of local delicacy of Malacca)
Bunga Tahi-ayam
'Fu-gui'(prosperous) Flower
Spider lily (Mommy's favorite)
