Emmy has turned 2. On her birthday, Mommy and Daddy took leave to spend time with Emmy and Elly. Started the day with a simple breakfast, then went to Connaught for lunch. Plan to have cake for dessert at Leisure Mall not accomplished when Emmy vomited.

Went home and cooked ABC soup for Emmy. Happy birthday Emmy. This is a simple celebration.

Creative Emmy

Thank to Amira and my cousin sister, ABe, Elly and Emmy each has a Barbie doll. Lucky girls of mine, each having a Barbie doll at such a tender age. I was longing for one too when i was small and am so happy that they are able to own what I dont have when i was young.

They now like to dress and undress the dolls. Emmy was even very creative, by removing the jeans of Barbie half way, and said 'Shhhh...shhhh' (just like the way i potty train her).

Italiannies - Delicious Food

Enjoying delicious food in Italiannies, food are in bigger portion, and the strawberry shake, Elly's favorite is the best so far here. compared to Hainanese coffeehouse and Coffee Bean's Malibu(strawberry banana)

Italiannies is available in Gardens Midvalley, The Curve, and Sunway Pyramid. Oh, by the way, there is free kid's meal with every order of adult's meal. Bring your kids there, i am sure they gonna love the food and you will love the atmosphere.

Elly's Day out in Ikea

"I can do it, all by myself"

Elly practise self-dependent since small. Now 3 years old and being a bubbly girl, she loves to takes care of her own self-being. When i offer help to remove her pants, pampers(still potty train her to pass motion), she will say,"I can do it, all by myself".

Guess she learns the phrases from Disney Playhouse channel, which is a good thing to have at home. I am marvelled by her 'fast-growing' vocabulary and choice of words at a mere 3 yo. But then, she converse less and then zero-Mandarin, making me worried that she will totally forget that she is Chinese and importance of Mandarin.

Perhaps i am pushing her too hard too. Lets nature takes care of it and gradually i am sure that she will pick up Mandarin again.

Elly: Because you scold me ar.
Mommy: Its because you are naughty.
Elly: You are naughty. A Yan(Elly's chinese name) is a good girl.
Mommy: ???


Elly: Why you beat Meimei(Elly's sister)?
Mommy: Because she is naughty.
Elly: No, you cant beat her. You have to 'sayang'(love) her. Dont worry, Meimei. A Yan 'sayang'

Updates

Its already coming to end of 2008 and lately seldom have time to update. As Emmy started walking and talking, taking care the 2 girls take most of my 'non-working' hours already. Being only a year apart, they just need the same amount of attention all times.

CNY is approaching, economy not that good, celebration would be simple. Lucky Elly and Emmy already have a few dresses each from Popo and Ah-Mah. Hmm, Daddy and Mommy will just wear some of the old clothes will do.

Me, starting back into comping and try my luck into winning some freebies this year, who knows will be lucky again to travel to some new places, like Disneyland, Italy, HongKong and Australia.

Precious Little Hands

Whenever Emmy falls down, the first thing that she will do is to check whether her precious little hands are dirty. She will exclaimed 'Dirty..dirty' and request me or Daddy to clean her palms.

Nursery or Kindergarden for Elly

As more friends and relatives are sending their children to nursery or kindergarden at such a tender age, I am also tempted to seach for one for Elly and Emmy later on. Near my mom's place is a kindergarten called Mayter, in which i studied some 20 over years ago(but in a different location). Now, whenever Elly passed the kindergarten, she would said that it's her school and she wanna go to school.

For Elly, now is the best time to learn as much as she can, thus sending her to a nursery is good to let her socialise with other kids her age. On the other hand, now is also the time which she need sleep most and time to play and dance and just be herself, without timetable and rules.

So for time being had decided not to send Elly to kindie yet, and will spend more time with her learning together. Astro Playhouse Disney channel is a good learning place for babies and small kids. Sometimes i am just amazed by the words expressed by her, all learnt while watching Mickey, Pooh, Noddy and some other cartoons.

Some Funny Words

Elly is getting more talkative nowadays and whenever she learn some new words, sometimes there are just some funny incidents/words worth sharings.

Watermelon -- 'woling'

Honey-dew --- 'honey-du-rian'

Muffin --- 'muh-foam'

Emmy learning to call me 'Mommy', but despite trials, the words that come out from her mouth is 'Ba-peeee'. She can pronounce Daddy, Jie-jie(sister in Mandarin) correctly. And at the place we stay and her babysitter's place, there are a lot of Malay girls, and she can call 'Kakak'(sister in Malay) too.

Raya Day 2 -- Fever Day with Barney

Its Hari Raya Day 2. Planning for a family outing actually but both Emmy and Elly are having fever and cough so its family day at home sweet home.

Took out some 'handover' VCDs on kids programs and Elly selected Barneys. So now its family day at home watching Barney. The Barney , shall i say cute(ugly but adorable) creature is simply entertaining! And the values that Barney and friends share are good.

I think that with a character that the kids adore, its easier to instil good values on them when they see their 'idol' is practising the good values. The VCD sent a message on 'Sharings' and it really has been well done through songs and actions.

Everybody 'Moooooo..............'

Elly is very bubbly now. Daytime being taken care by Popo(maternal grandma), she watched Playhouse Disney a lot. And she is now copying the acts and the way the cartoon character talks.

Last Saturday, while we are at home in Midah, she was happy and said "Everybody, Moooooooo....'. Initially we thought that she just wanted to say it and that's it. But she kept 'mooo-ing' and asked me and Sky to follow her. At last, we had no choice but to 'Moo' together with her.

So we had a good time 'moo-ing' and have fun.
